PGCPS PREFERRED PROVIDER DIRECTORY

The Prince George’s County Public Schools (PGCPS), Community Schools Preferred Provider Directory is a collection of local non-profit and for-profit organizations that offer the thirteen wraparound services recommended by PGCPS. United Way NCA conducted a rigorous vetting process to find programs that deliver the strongest results. The programs represented in this directory have demonstrated the ability to deliver results-driven services that contribute to student success.

Our hope is that this directory will help your school provide the high-quality services that community schools need, and students deserve.

ABOUT

About

Since 2019, United Way of the National Capital Area has been actively working with Prince George’s County Public Schools to bolster student support and resources. Following the Kirwan Commission’s 2016 establishment and its subsequent recommendations for education enhancements in Maryland, the “Blueprint for Maryland’s Future” was enacted in 2021.This significant legislation champions the expansion of community schools and ensures the provision of comprehensive support to students and families in need, with a particular focus on areas with poverty levels. These schools receive state funding to ensure that equitable, academic, and non-academic opportunities and resources are made available to students and families under 13 wraparound service categories. Prince George’s County has one of the largest community schools’ initiatives in the state and new schools are phased in each year.
