We offer ways to get involved by creating notecards, packing kits for those in need, and assisting with our economic opportunity programs like our tax assistance DC and more. Essential Needs

For many in our community, especially members of the ALICE population, meeting basic needs on a low income is not possible. You can make a difference by supporting community members in need! From healthy meals and snacks to hygiene kits and cold-weather kits, United Way NCA volunteer opportunities provide basic needs and more to those who need it most.

Stuff the Bus

United Way NCA’s Stuff the Bus campaign provides backpacks filled with grade-appropriate school supplies to middle school students attending our six Community Schools in DC and surrounding counties in Northern Virginia and Maryland. Join us for our in-person volunteer event to stuff backpacks full of school supplies on Aug. 7, 2024.

Project Community Connect

Project Community Connect (PCC) is a United Way NCA signature event focused on providing essential services to those at risk of or experiencing homelessness and the ALICE (Asset Limited, Income Constrained, Employed) population. PCC is held annually in October, usually with multiple events to serve a few different communities throughout the DMV.

Coaching & Mentoring

Use your expertise for good! Whether you are a business owner or a professional high up in their career, you can help community members advance their own careers through volunteer opportunities like resume writing and mentoring. With the support of community members like you, we can advance the economic opportunity of the National Capital Area.

Tee Up For Equity

Tee Up For Equity is a United Way NCA signature event featuring an afternoon of golf, raffles and more. The money raised at this event supports United Way NCA’s programs and services benefitting the health, education and economic opportunity of Loudoun County community members. This event typically occurs in fall. Our next event will be held September 13, 2024.
