United Way of the National Capital Area’s Financial Empowerment Centers provide services to help individuals and families advance on a path toward economic opportunity.
Financial Empowerment Centers
Over the past ten years, United Way NCA opened various Financial Empowerment Centers (FEC’s) across the National Capital Area. These centers help lift up individuals and families and put them on a path toward economic opportunity. They receive free money management counseling, credit and housing counseling, job coaching, small-business support, and asset-building resources. And, they receive the most valuable thing of all: respect. Financial Empowerment Centers guide clients throughout various stages of life for a variety of financial needs
By providing a convenient pathway to these solutions, the Financial Empowerment Centers are helping to realize one of United Way NCA’s most critical objectives: enabling members of the community to achieve greater economic opportunity for themselves and their households. Our Financial Empowerment Centers are located in Prince George’s County through a partnership with Prince George’s Community College, the South County Government Center in Alexandria, Prince William County, Washington, DC, and Montgomery County.
