Through United Way of the National Capital Area’s Thrive United 365 health work, we are addressing health conditions most affecting our communities, including COVID-19.
Currently, Thrive United 365 is providing National Capital Area residents with free COVID-19 tests, vaccines and resources through collaboration with local churches and nonprofit partners. Find out more about this important aspect of our health equity work, as well as a calendar of upcoming COVID-19 testing and vaccination events, below.

The CDC recommends that anyone with any signs or symptoms of COVID-19 get tested, regardless of vaccination status or prior infection. If you have also been exposed to COVID-19, testing is highly recommended.
COVID-19 vaccination is recommended for all people aged 12 years and older, including people who are pregnant, lactating, trying to get pregnant now or might become pregnant in the future. If you are concerned about the vaccine, please speak with your doctor or a health expert available at all Thrived United 365 COVID-19 events.
Our vaccination events primarily provide the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine as it is fully FDA approved and the only vaccine approved for those ages 12 and older. However, depending on the location, supply and needs of the community, any of the three major COVID-19 vaccines (Pfizer, Moderna or J&J) may be used. For example, if a population has trouble coming in for a second dose, then we may administer a single dose J&J vaccine. Additionally, if a booster dose is approved, vaccination locations will likely have some stock of all three vaccines.
Insurance is not required for testing or vaccination and all testing and vaccination is free to community members.
All of our testing and and vaccination events are walk-up events and do not have drive-thrus. Walk-in appointments are available for all community members.
