REGIONAL COUNCILS

Regional Councils play a vital role in the work of United Way of the National Capital Area.

Regional Councils play a vital role in the work of United Way of the National Capital Area in support of the organization’s mission to reduce disparities across all three pillars of health, education and economic opportunity and improve the outcomes for individuals and families in the National Capital Area. Members of Regional Councils connect United Way NCA staff directly with the communities we serve, helping us to better understand the needs of the community.

Members of the Regional Councils have the opportunity to not only give back to their communities, but also to further develop their own leadership skills, as well as personal and professional networks. Those looking to deepen their philanthropic commitment can also explore Leaders United, United Way NCA’s leadership giving community. Regional Council members not only interact with other members on their region’s council, but with members from across the region, including those involved in Next-Gen, our affinity group for young professionals committed to making a difference. Regional Council members regularly meet with United Way NCA’s senior leadership and staff along with volunteer leadership and philanthropic partners.
