Employees Join Together to Give Back at Pepco Talent Show

by United Way NCA

At Pepco, the holiday season means it’s time for the annual United Way Talent Show. For years, employees have been coming together to share their music skills and give back to the National Capital community.

Linda has been participating since she joined the company in 2002. We asked her to reflect on the importance of the event.

Giving back is a part of who I am. I was taught as a child the importance of giving and supporting those in need.

My siblings and I started early supporting our community and United Way. My mom and dad trained us to sing for local organizations, church functions, hospitals, nursing homes, talent shows and so much more. We volunteer our services every chance we get!

I have loved volunteering my talents every year since 2002, when I started with this company. You know you are making a difference and all of your hard work is for a good cause. I will continue to donate to the agency that I support as well as my talents. I am proud that our company always rises above our goal, and we can all come together and bring our talents to make a positive impact.

I’m not done yet. I am still volunteering my services this year by giving food baskets for the Thanksgiving Holidays and upcoming Christmas! Always making a difference!  Look out for next year: bigger and better!
