Celebrate Mandela Day By Giving Back

“It is in your hands to create a better world for all who live in it.” – Nelson Mandela

Nelson Mandela International Day celebrates Mandela’s 67 years of public service by asking all of us to give 67 minutes of our time, and to carry that volunteer spirit forward the rest of the year. Established in 2009, the holiday recognizes the importance of giving back locally to support our global community.

When you volunteer ––whether it’s for an hour, a day, once a week, or once a month –– you can create a tremendous impact on another person’s life. United Way NCA connects volunteers with projects in DC, Maryland, and Virginia year-round and there are plenty of opportunities to get involved. If you’re not sure where to start, let us know and we’ll be in touch!
