It’s time to be #BetterUnited as United Way of the National Capital Area brings together individuals and organizations who are committed to making a difference in our community.

Save the date! On Wednesday, May 18, 2022, United Way of the National Capital Area will host its 10th annual Do More 24, a social movement giving members of our community the chance to think about what they care most about, learn what others are doing in our region to solve its most pressing problems and be a part of achieving a more equitable National Capital Area.

We are truly #BetterUnited when we break down barriers to create a more equitable society where everyone in our community has fair and equal access to health, education and economic opportunity. Since 2013, your United Way NCA has supported more than 1,200 nonprofit organizations during the annual Do More 24 event, raising over $13.7 million dollars for our region’s heroes and the nonprofits that support our community every day.

Over the last two years, we have seen small businesses, families and loved ones devastated by this pandemic, with unprecedented levels of hunger, unemployment and deficits in education. This year’s Do More 24 is one of the most important yet as we continue to join forces to help our community recover from the pandemic and lift up our neighbors in need.

Through Do More 24, community members can join us in our efforts and be #BetterUnited by graciously giving and promoting peer-to-peer fundraising. When you invite your friends and colleagues to join the equity movement, you expand Do More 24’s reach—a win-win for you and the community you care about. Our goal is to have more than 300 active personal fundraising pages with a goal of raising at least $1 million during this year’s Do More 24. Will you join us?

As we look ahead beyond the pandemic and the economic impact, United Way NCA is thinking critically about equitable solutions for the region it serves, focusing on ensuring everyone in our community can see themselves as part of the long-term solution. We invite you to become a part of the resolution! Find out more about this year’s event and how you can support Do More 24 by visiting domore24.org/uwnca. When none are ignored, all will thrive.
